Quality People or People of Quality?
Every day I am more and more surprised with people. By the way they think, act, exist.
Some may consider me naïve, some others silly for not giving up hoping to something better. Envisioning another society truly solidary.
I thought that economic crisis would have made us better people, better professionals, better co-operators. I believed that economic crisis would have made us to put above all quality and would have led us towards a direction of not compromising.
One thing which I did expect was that people who teach about quality and they are supposed to serve quality and its certification would be at least consistent in themselves. I did expect that first of all they would have applied all the values of quality in each facet of their lives.
Quality means respect. Respect myself and my neighbor…From my family, to my friends, my colleagues, my customers.
Quality means that I put myself in the shoes of others. It means empathy. It means that I don’t criticize!
Quality means I put limits and I don’t allow anybody to influence or demolish them.
Quality means to have the courage to say NO. To have the courage to close a door because this is the only way to open others that are going to help you go a step further.
Quality means to risk. To leave your comfort zone, to lose your supposed sleepiness.
Quality means to be awaken.
Quality is the ability to discriminate through the direct action.
Quality means to be rebel!
And as Steve Jobs once said… “Be a yardstick of quality. Some people aren’t used to an environment where excellence is expected.”
For me, a quality person is the one who can exist and act in an environment of excellence. While a person of quality is the one who acts based on certification labels.
What kind of person do you choose to be???
